Our pastor
Our lead pastor is Ray Ortlund. He says, “I have the most wonderful wife, I love my kids and grandkids, and I love Immanuel Church. My dream is that God would use us for true revival in our city.”
Ray taught at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Deerfield, Illinois, for nine years. He has also pastored churches in California, Oregon and Georgia. Ray holds a Ph.D. from The University of Aberdeen, Scotland. In addition to a number of essays and articles, he has published five books. Ray also participated in The New Living Translation and the English Standard Version of the Bible. He contributed the introduction and study notes to the book of Isaiah in The ESV Study Bible. He also serves on the Council of The Gospel Coalition.

Family: Jill and I have been married since August of 2001. We have three children.
Education & Experience: B.S. in Religion with a Youth Ministry concentration, M.A. in Religion with a Leadership concentration.

Interests: I enjoy spending time with my family. I also enjoy reading, people, hunting, snowboarding and teaching. As of late I’ve started running and playing basketball – things I thought I was through with. I like beautiful sunsets and majestic mountains.
Unusual Fact: Jeremy and Jill were married in a hospital.
